What sets it apart is that every one of them gets tracked, mixed, and self-produced at Hudson Ave Studio, so a collaborator isn’t just getting a song, they’re getting a finished one.
The Craft
A SONGWRITER, SELF-PRODUCED
Three years of classical and jazz guitar in DePaul University’s Music Program set the foundation for the writing: composing and performing original scores for Chicago’s black box theater scene, work that demanded writing to picture and mood rather than just to a verse-chorus structure. That’s still the core skill — building a song that doesn’t exist yet, alone or with a co-writer.
The production side exists to serve that: every track released under Circle of 3rds is self-produced, engineered, and mixed at Hudson Ave Studio, so a song written here doesn’t stall out waiting on someone else’s studio time — it leaves the room finished.

Because the writing is self-produced at Hudson Ave Studio, a co-write doesn’t stop at a demo — guitar, bass, drums, and vocals can all be tracked, mixed, and delivered without bringing in outside session players.

Every co-write is published through Circle of 3rds, LLC — the name is the model: publishing and copyright are split and shared with co-writers and collaborators, not signed away. Credit goes where the work happened.
